This book series has done nothing but get better and better. Brave picks up right where Torn ends and we are thrown back into the world filled with dangerous fae and now good fae. But things aren't all rainbows and sunshine for Ivy as she realizes things are not as okay as they may have originally seemed.
One thing I really appreciated about this book is that Jennifer L. Armentrout didn't just sugar-coat everything or tie it all up with a nice pretty bow and have Ivy suddenly overcome and be okay with the events that took place in Torn. Instead we see a whole new side to our beloved firey redhead as she has to face her own demons and begin to heal herself. But for me that was one of the best parts of the entire novel the journey of self-discovery that Ivy goes on and the support and love she has from Ren and Tink is touching. We've always seen strong Ivy and kick-butt Ivy but in Brave we're exposed to a softer side of her and it made her character so much more dimensional and relatable.
I also fell more in love with my book boyfriend Ren. He may or may not be tied now with Mr. Daemon Black! And Tink! Oh sweet baby Tink. If I had to name a single favorite character from all of JLA's books I would hands down say Tink. He's cute, creepy, and he sure knows how to save the day. I will also never be able to look at troll dolls the same again.
We're introduced to some interesting new characters that make you question things we thought we previously knew. JLA did such an incredible job of not spoon-feeding all the new information and instead we learn and react to everything right along with Ivy which made the reading experience that much more enjoyable.

Ultimately Brave was an amazing conclusion to a series that sweeps you into the world of fae and magic and that spooky yet beautiful New Orleans setting. I cannot recommend these books enough if you're looking for something that's hilarious, swoon-worthy, and kick-butt the Wicked trilogy is for you!
